Football: Injury scare for Ospina as Napoli beat Udinese
(REUTERS) - Second-placed Napoli survived a spirited Udinese fightback to record a 4-2 Serie A win on Sunday but there were concerns over a head injury to keeper David Ospina at the Stadio San Paolo.
The Colombian, who arrived on a season-long loan from Arsenal in the close season, collided with Udinese's Ignacio Pussetto early in the game and collapsed later in the first half before being carried off on a stretcher and taken to hospital.
Italian media reports said a CT scan was clear but Ospina will remain under observation for the next 24-48 hours.
Carlo Ancelotti's side were pegged back after taking a two-goal lead in the first half, but pulled away after the break to reduce Juventus' lead at the top of Serie A to 15 points.
Amin Younes' curled finish on his first start of the season gave Napoli an early lead before Jose Callejon doubled their advantage with a bundled finish.
Udinese responded in impressive fashion as Kevin Lasagna's strike got them back in the game on the half-hour before Seko Fofana drove a finish past Ospina to draw the visitors level.
Arkadiusz Milik headed Napoli back in front from a corner in the second half and Dries Mertens made sure of the points as he darted inside and found the net with 20 minutes remaining.
Earlier, Lazio thrashed Parma 4-1 in Rome and relegation-threatened Empoli recorded a vital 2-1 win over second-bottom rivals Frosinone, while bottom side Chievo produced a shock by holding European hopefuls Atalanta to a 1-1 draw in Bergamo.

Chelsea's $100m Pulisic is most expensive US player
LONDON • Chelsea made the first major statement of intent in the January transfer window by signing United States forward Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund for a reported fee of £58 million (S$100.3 million) yesterday.
The 20-year-old becomes the most expensive American player in history and will be loaned back to the German Bundesliga leaders until the end of the season.
Pulisic, who moved to Germany as a teenager and has played more than 80 times for Dortmund, has featured more in the Champions League this season than the domestic league as coach Lucien Favre favours English winger Jadon Sancho in his line-up.
He admitted in November last year that he hoped to play in the English Premier League, having refused to extend his existing contract expiring in June 2020.
Pulisic said in a statement issued by Chelsea: "It's a privilege to have signed for such a legendary club and I look forward to working hard towards being a contributor to their team of world-class players."
Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said: "It was always Christian's dream to play in the Premier League. That certainly has to do with his American background and, as a result, we were unable to extend his contract.
"Against this background, we have decided to accept an extremely lucrative bid by Chelsea, given the low contract maturity.
"Christian Pulisic is a character-perfect player. I am sure that in the coming months, he will do everything in his power to bring his high quality to the team and to achieve his sporting goals with his teammates at Borussia Dortmund."
Â
A former Under-17 captain, Pulisic became the youngest player to captain the US senior side aged 20 years and 63 days in November last year.
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia stated her delight to have signed "one of Europe's most sought-after young players... who has the potential to become an important Chelsea player for many years to come".

Football: Liverpool say Sturridge, Moreno to leave the club
LONDON (DPA) - European champions Liverpool said on Tuesday (June 4) that Daniel Sturridge and Alberto Moreno will leave the club once their contracts expire this summer.
Sturridge scored 67 goals in 160 appearances after joining from Chelsea in January 2013, but has struggled with injuries and was unable to maintain a first-team place in the past two seasons.
Left-back Moreno made 141 appearances, having joined from Sevilla in the summer of 2014.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp praised both players for their impact on and off the pitch.
"Daniel has earned the right to be considered a modern-day Liverpool great, I would think," Klopp told the club's website.
"He came to the club while we were trying to rebuild and re-establish ourselves. Some of the goals he has scored for Liverpool were so, so, so important."
Moreno was a regular in the side until the arrival of Andy Robertson last season.
"Alberto is a person whose personality is reflected in how he plays, full of life, full of energy, always positive, an unbelievable character who is always willing to give all of himself for the team," he said.
"We will miss them of course, but we can say farewell with the best words possible: Guys, you leave as European champions."

Football: Tampines Rovers coach Gavin Lee predicts tight title race despite superb start to the new SPL season
SINGAPORE - It may be still early days in the 2019 Singapore Premier League (SPL) season, but a marker could be laid down in the clash of title contenders Tampines Rovers and last year's unbeaten champions Albirex Niigata at Our Tampines Hub on Friday (March 29).
In a reversal of roles, it is the Stags who are marching relentlessly while the White Swans are struggling for rhythm.
League leaders Tampines, on a maximum nine points after three games, can open up an 11-point gap over Albirex, who have one point from two games.
Second-placed Brunei DPMM FC, on seven points from three games, are not in action until they play the Stags on April 7.
But Tampines' head coach-in-waiting Gavin Lee does not think this Irrepressibles versus Invincibles fixture will have a huge bearing on the title race.
He said: "This is just the fourth game for us and the third for Albirex. There are 20 more games to go and anything can happen. This season is going to be a close race."
Under the former Warriors FC assistant coach, the Stags have won their first three games through their brand of high pressing and passing football, scoring a league high 11 goals and conceding twice.
Â
Â
Â
In stark contrast, Albirex, champions for the past three seasons, have yet to bulge the net in the SPL this year.
The Japanese club's coach Keiji Shigetomi feels that "every game is important", but his focus is on drilling his players to find the target.
He said: "We didn't have the ability to score. That is why we did more attack training last week."
Lee is not taking anything for granted and he believes the White Swans are more dangerous when wounded.
He said: "Knowing the Japanese, they will work extremely hard to correct something if they didn't get it right the first time."
The Stags' early-season form had also earned left-back Irwan Shah and centre-back Amirul Adli national recalls six and four years respectively after their last international appearances.
The duo started in Singapore's two matches against Malaysia and Oman in the AirMarine Cup last week and Lee is looking for more from the rejuvenated duo.
He said: "I'm very happy and proud of them (Irwan and Amirul)... and there's going to a lot more coming from them as they will be motivated to get called up more often."
